Welcome to a large family-friendly house with a large garden in the heart of Bohuslän. Here you can enjoy coffee in the garden, magical sunsets and salty baths.
Flatön is a quiet scenic island full of cozy paths, beautiful bays and mighty mountains.
From our house, which is built in traditional style, it is 300m to the island's most beautiful and child-friendly bathing bay with both a jetty to jump from and a beach for the little ones. There are smooth rocks to stretch out on and plenty of crab fishing spots for the kids. For those who want to, there are lots of lovely bathing bays to discover on the island.
In the garden there is a large trampoline and a tree swing hangs in the pine tree. On the generous lawns there is room for spontaneous football or badminton. There is of course an outdoor area for coffee breaks and barbecue evenings. The house has relatively new finishes downstairs and is bright and airy. There is a functional kitchen, two living rooms and four bedrooms with a total of seven beds (three with a double bed, one room with a single bed).
We have a canoe (older model) which is fine to borrow, but it is also possible to rent modern kayaks on the island. For those who like sport fishing and diving, this is the perfect place. Pleasant day trips can be made to Gullholmen, Kärringön, Mollösund and Lysekil, among others.
A hiking trail can be found just near by the house and kayak rental is approx. 1.5 km from the house.
The old school from the 19th century next to the beautiful church is today a small museum that is open in the summer. During a period in the 40s, the Swedish sing- and songwriter Evert Taube lived on the island. The old store Handelsman Flink is today a popular summer cafe and restaurant with popular music evenings.
In 1990, my father built this nice summer house with a view over meadows and sea for the family. Nowadays, my parents are retired and live on the island in a newly built house on the hill above their old summer house. My brothers and I take care of the summer house and live in Gothenburg and Stockholm respectively.
