Are you looking for silence, fresh air and a wide range of outdoor activities in unspoiled nature? Then this area, situated 700 meters above sea level, midway between Åre and Vålådalen and only 10 km from the train station of Undersåker, is the perfect destination.
Our grandfather was a true, old style mountain man. During fifty years of skiing expeditions he covered a large area of the North, got in contact with the locals and managed to buy a number of traditional, old log houses. One by one he carefully restored them and put them up on piece of land overlooking the beautiful mountain ridge of Anaris in Jämtland.
In granpa´s spirit we have further developed this cultural heritage to a completely modern small mountain lodge - restoring the insides while maintaining the exteriors as close to the original as possible. Certain extensions have been made - an extra bedroom, bathroom, living room and a large deck facing southeast.
The main building is 90 square meters. Downstairs there are two small bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining space and a huge fire place. Here you also find a floor heated bathroom with toilet, shower, washing machine and dry tumbler. Also there is a living room with a large sofa, TV and a typical Swedish traditional fire place. On the upper floor there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and a stunning view over lakes, forests and mountains.
The annex has a separate bedroom with a queen size bed and a sauna plus an adjoining, floor heated bathroom with shower. The plot also contains a number of small, lovely timber houses and even a real "lavvo" - the traditional building of the Sami people.
The surroundings offers an endless number of activities. In the winter cross country and downhill skiing at Trillevallens many family friendly slopes and well groomed trails. Summertime - running, walking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking and swimming. If you are into shopping, dining and night life the renowned mountain resort of Åre is just 20 km away. For further information about the area and its activities we warmly recommend the sight Fjallupplevelser.
So if you want to make something truly special out of your Swedish vacation - this traditional mountain lodge, at the foot of the mountain Välliste, could be well worth considering.
