Cosy Cabin on the island Björkö by Gothenburg

Björkö - the Green Gate to Bohuslän.

A wonderful house in the midst of the archipelagos of Sweden’s West Coast.

This house offers you a tranquil and peaceful accommodation in the old parts of Björkö next door to walking trails, the sea with many secluded bays and the harbour with local shopping and restaurants.

The island Björkö is situated in the Northern archipelagos of Gothenburg. You get there by the free public car-ferry from Lilla Varholmen’s harbour, situated 20 minutes by car from Gothenburg via Hisingen and Road 155.

The cabin is newly renovated and has a bright, open plan with a Swedish heritage build-in veranda. It has a living room with a new bed-sofa (for 2), a comfy kitchen and a bathroom including WC and shower.

One floor up you find a bedroom to the left with a 140 cm wide bed and opposite a bedroom with a 120 cm and a 105cm wide bed. Both bedrooms have linens curtains as doors. Between the two bedrooms is a room with a view, overlooking the picturesque, green landscape of Björkö and by the window sit two chairs -ideal for reading or a relaxing cup of tea.

The veranda and the living room are connected by a set of steps and the living room and the first floor by a steep, so called “Norwegian loft” staircase. Hence the cabin is unfortunately not ideal for the youngest children nor people with physical inabilities.

Björkö is the largest island of the 10 Öckerö islands in the Northern archipelago of Gothenburg. Here you will find a large un-exploited nature with dikes, oak trees, bathing lagoons, several hill tops with fantastic views of the archipelagos. The hiking routes are numerous.

Close by you will find the harbour with fishing boats, sail boats and yachts. The Seaside Restaurant with good food and music program, Pizzaria with seating and take away, Thaifood, a local brewery Barlind, Food store, Boat- postal and clothes-shop, Fish-shop, Mini-golf, Ice cream parlour at the water side, Rental of sea-kayaks and hair dresser
