Completely sheltered from the neighbours, lies this lovely little cottage which is nice renovated ( 2016) A guesthouse with the same high standard is located next door. Here you live in an old cottage area with large plots, and can’t see a single house around you. Blueberries & lingonberries grow in your own backyard. The sea is only 600 meters away with two nice bathing places nearby.

House
In the main building there is a bright living room with a sofa bed & armchairs, TV, and exit to a small covered balcony at the front. In the kitchen, everything is new, hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer - all you need for a comfortable holiday. There is also a small dining area. In the house there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed, both beautifully designed with real summer cottage wallpaper with floral patterns. The tiled bathroom has WC, sink & shower.

The guest cottage
The nice guest house is located right next door. It also has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and toilet and a bedroom with a bed.

The property
On the plot is a large lawn with a wonderful old chestnut tree, probably an old nursery tree that many houses had before, and which was considered a living creature that could give happiness if you were behaving. The lawn turns into woods with both deciduous and conifers trees. Visits of elk and deer are common.

At the back of the house there is a wooden diningtable with chairs. Here is sunny most of the day. In the front of the house there is a small raised covered terrace.

The surroundings
The house is located just a kilometer from Slussen where there is a guest house, famous for its fine food & all major artists who entertain every summer. Here you will also find Café Tillsamman (Together) with super good coffee & lunch, mostly organic & vegetarian, they also have a small shop in the same spirit. Sometimes a troubadour entertains on the outdoor seating by the water.

In Slussen there is also a communal bathing area with a jetty, jumping tower and changing room.
A nice nature bathing area is located just over a kiometer south of the house. Here you can enjoy the sun on beautiful rocks typical for this part of Sweden.

For the nature enthusiasts there is a nice birdwatching tower just outside Slussen where one can see many species that were more common some years back.

To do at Orust
If you like to hike there are pilgrimage routes where you walk over meadows & through forests between Orust's churches. Fishing crabs are fun for both small and big children and just require a bucket and a string. Under the tab "Activities" you will find tips about our own gems on Orust & the neighbour island of Tjörn. Try camel riding at Myckleby Nedergård, rent a boat & discover your own bathing cliffs & coves, learn about the bees life at Tavlebord's honeyfarm, buy locally produced vegetables & freshly prepared fish & seafood at farms & shops around the island!
