GETTING AROUND LILLVIK - GENERAL
• Norra Värmland is an Eldorado for those looking for beautiful nature and lots to do in forest and lake.
Local environment
LILLVIK
• The lake at the site is called Nedre Brocken. Canoes or boats with oars provide the opportunity to just paddle/row out for swimming from the boat, fishing for zander, pike and perch. If you row or paddle upstream, you will reach the Upper Brocken, where on the eastern side there is a magical sandy beach 2.5 km up. The swimming area with the jetty next to the cabin is actually private but may be used tenants in our cabin. There is a small private sandy beach on the property.
• It is fine to hike/stroll in the immediate area on low-traffic roads (most of them). Walking around the lake is nice. It is also possible to walk past Gästgiveriet, over the bridge and then left towards Abba's bicycle camping or even further.
• The inn is neighbors and in recent years has had a summer cafe around July 15 to August 1 - Thursdays to Sundays (Opened 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023).
BIKE
• It is fine to use the bikes on the plot to cycle around the local area. For those who enjoy MTB cycling, there are plenty of cycling loops in the immediate area, thanks in large part to Abba's camping which has invested in MTB cycling in particular. Next to the Gästgiveriet there is also the "Brockens MTB Trail Centre" with a jump and track. Cycle maps are available in the TV room. NOTE Old single-speed bikes.
HIKE
• Hovfjället is a nature reserve with lots of hiking trails. Maps are available in the TV room. The view with coffee on a fine day from the top is unbeatable. Make your way up to the lookout tower. Hiking maps are available in the TV room
FRUIT, BERRIES AND OTHER EDIBLES
• There are raspberry bushes on the plot below the storage room. A little currant too. Pick if you want. Up on Hovfjället there are as many berries and mushrooms as you can imagine. The marshes provide lots of cloudberries, for example. Available along the hiking trails, but if you deviate a bit and find your own place, you can pick a bucket full! Tips can be found in the TV room.
