Do you long for a break from your regular routine, responsibilities, and social media or are you looking for a “coolcation”?
In that case, you've come to the right spot! Taking excellent care of your mind, body, and spirit is fully possible with the help of few modern bits.

Picture this: you sip your coffee while gazing at the serene lake, listening to birds chirping. Depending on your own personal choice, you can plunge in the clean, fresh water for a swim or just take the boat for a ride, and that for sure will energize your body.
The days are yours to do with what you want: lounge in the sun, ride bikes, exercise, row a boat, hike through the woods, read, or simply be.

The eco cottage features a main cabin, a tiny bedroom, a dining area under a glass veranda, and a storage room; it is a quiet, tastefully decorated retreat.
This Off grid cabin was designed to be a multipurpose one with space for sleeping, lounging, cooking, and eating all in one convenient premium location.
It includes modern, comfy futon couch beds that can accommodate 2 people with a Japanese aesthetic and comfort (Japanese style bed: futon mattress on tatami floor mats). In this space, you'll have at your disposal a coffee table, an Asian cabinet and a kitchenette with all the essentials for preparing a few simple meals on a gas stovetop.

2 more persons can sleep comfortably in the little bedroom (on the other futon mattress and/or the bunk bed). There is enough seating for four people on a breezy, lake-facing terrace too. Storage areas below ground level maintain a constant, cold temperature, making them ideal for keeping perishable goods. On wet or chilly evenings, you may warm up by the fire while listening to the rain.

Whether you arrive in the morning or the evening, you may spend it on the cabin's south-facing terrace, taking in the vista of the lake and the sunshine. There's a big barbecue and outdoor furniture, including a solid oak picnic table, outdoor kitchen, two seats, two sittings sacks (Fatboy), and two smaller poufs.

There is no potable water, sewage disposal, or power here because of the area's relative isolation but excelent location, although these challenges are overcome in various ways. There is no indoor restroom, but there is a separate modern incineration toilet located in the outside toilet supplimented by a camping toilet.
At the check in, we'll have 20 liters of potable water in the cabin's freshwater tank. The water is then gathered at tap sites, gas station in Lilla Edet town or Stenungsund which is home to a variety of mom-and-pop stores, pharmacies, banks, and more. Pumped up from the lake, the water on the terrace may be used for any purpose other than drinking if it is boiled beforehand. Clean up before checking out, dishwashing, and a quick shower using eco-friendly products can be done in the lake so far.
Powerbank and the boat can be rented on the spot, but let as know beforehand.
You may take full use of the lake if you bring a kayak or renting our own rowing boat. The jetty in front of the house is the perfect spot for a refreshing dip. The conveniences and facilities of the accommodation are regularly upgraded.

Several types of berries may be found in the region, and in the fall you can harvest the "gold of the forest," chanterelles and porcini mushrooms. During the colder months, the lake is turned into a bustling ice-skating rink.

In Sweden there is a law called “Right of public access” and the very few locals that occasionally may come for a swim in the lake are friendly and their visit quite short due to lack of beach on the cape, so most of the time you will only hear the wind whispering along with your thoughts. The cabin is included in ''peace-at-home-zone'' and everybody must respect it accordingly.

Words fail me when I try to describe the emotions I experience here, yet there are numerous ways to describe how incredible this location is.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the historic place "Hotel Fridfullt"!

August 2023. Lucia and Andrei received us warmly und gave us detailed instructions to the house, especially to the new gas stove, the gas refrigerator and the very new incineration toilet outside. The cottage hasn´t any electric power nor fresh water. But there is a manual pump right beside the house to get water from the lake for washing yourself or cleaning the dishes. Beside that the house is well equipped as described. Outside you will find the new rowing boat. It´s a lovely cottage at a beautiful natural scenery. But there are a few downsides: The house itself seems to be at a loney place. But it´s not that lonely and quiet as it might to be. Right beside the house you will find a public bathing area (Rödvattnet bad) - every single day there were people for swimming, fishing, mushrooms... There is no internet connection with smartphone and even week connection for calls. Very poor fishing conditions, absolutely no pike or perch to catch (I´ve been fishing for over 20 years)

Thank you for your comment! Here is my reply to it, better late than never. ☺️ In Sweden there is a law called “Right of public access” which means that we can’t forbid the few locals that occasionally come for a swim in the lake.Their visit is short due to lack of a beach on the cape. Most of the time you are alone! As for the fishing, the bigger and diverse fish one gets in the Göta river bank. The cabin is eco (off grid) but well-equipped with advanced modern solutions such as incineration toilet, stove and fridge driven by gas. 20L tankwater is provided and can be refilled close by in the town. The standard is improved continuously. Scandinavian long summer days and white nights are special. Summer 2023 was a rainy one on the West Coast and during your stay we experienced a powerful storm with heavy rains and winds. We can’t do anything about the weather, but you are welcome back another time for a hopefully sunnier stay as other guests experienced. All the best, Lucia

A perfect place in a perfect environment. The house had all we needed. Andrei and Lucia are very pleasant hosts who really wanted the best for us. The quietness, the flowers, the nature all around, the lake with the most romantic swimplace….. We stayed for three weeks and would have loved to stay longer! Lots of walkingtrails, we met deer, moose, snakes and more! Blueberry picking around the house everyday to start our morning yoghurt with. There are no other cottages nearby what we loved. On sunny days a lot of people (more then ten, certainly not a hundred) visit the lake, we had to get used to that , thinking we had paradise to ourselves. We also had campingguests at the lake. People come there for the beautiful lake, take theorie canoes and go to the swimmingplace, all are very relaxed. The sights from the cottage across the lake, the evening light, the waterlillies…we can go on and on, so beautiful! Peaceful and Gilles with energy we returned home. Thank you Andrei and Lucia😃
