On Tvärnö, at the northernmost part of Roslagen, lies our paradise by the sea, a cluster of houses in the middle of nature at the end of the road. Here we enjoy morning swims from our own jetty, without any neighbors in sight, eat all our meals outdoors unless it rains, and pick berries and mushrooms in the forest. The main house is 100 square meters. It has two bedrooms, two newly renovated bathrooms, a kitchen with a new stove and fridge/freezer, a dining room, and a large living room with a fireplace. The guest cottage, which is 40 square meters, has two bedrooms and a smaller room with bunk beds. By the jetty, there is a small open boat with a 20-horsepower outoard motor. A half-hour drive away is the charming little harbor town of Öregrund, with a ferry to the beautiful island Gräsö, where you can paddle in shallow bays and across open waters. On the way there, you pass an 18-hole golf course, and for those who like to find old treasures, Höna Böna's gigantic flea market is nearby. The Östra Tvärnö nature reserve is an archipelago environment with old farms nestled between the sea, forest, and an ancient agricultural landscape. There are several trails and plenty of lovely picnic spots with sea views.
