Cozy and partly newly renovated cottage in beautiful Värmland, with wonderful views of Järnsjön, a large plot and access to a jetty for swimming in the lake!
Welcome to Årjäng in southwestern Värmland with proximity to lakes, forests, hiking trails, fishing opportunities and wonderful nature experiences. You are also close to several shopping centers in Töcksfors on the Norwegian border (20 kilometers). Karlstad's large selection of shopping, culture and entertainment can be reached in about an hour by car.
Description of the cottage
The cottage is located 8 km east of central Årjäng, on a hill about 200 meters from Järnsjön, and offers a fantastic view of the water. Access to a shared private jetty (shared with other cottage owners) with a bathing ladder and boat berth (boat not included). Quiet area with few neighbors, large plot with lawn, and the forest on the doorstep. Parking on the plot.
The cottage consists of two bedrooms, one equipped with a double bed (2 x 80 cm) for two people. The second bedroom offers one bed of 120 cm suitable for one adult or two children. An extra mattress can also be provided if you need additional sleeping space.
The cottage has an open floor plan between the kitchen, living room, and dining room and this entire part was renovated in 2024. The kitchen has plenty of equipment for a comfortable stay. In addition to a fridge, freezer compartment, stove, and oven (older appliances that will be replaced during the season), there is also a microwave, kettle, coffee maker, waffle iron, electric mixer, toaster, plenty of other household utensils, crockery, etc.
In the living room there is a sofa, footchair, living room table, TV furniture and TV (Swedish and Norwegian terrestrial channels). In the kitchen, you will find a bar table with two chairs and the beautiful dining room has dining room furniture with room for many.

The cottage also has a furnished conservatory under the roof and a larger veranda in a sunny location with garden furniture. Barbecue is available to borrow.
Tourist attractions
Sweden:
•Årjäng (9 km): Smaller urban area with grocery stores, shops, restaurants, cafés, library, pharmacy, liquor store, banks, etc. Smaller slalom slope in winter, Årjäng's market in September, Årjängstravet with big horse competitions (V75 in July).
•Töcksfors (18 km): Border town with a shopping park, shopping center, restaurants and cafés.
•Arvika (58 km): Swedish city with about 14,000 inhabitants. There are attractions for the culture-interested, rich musical life, 365 lakes for fishing and water adventures, and wide forests for outdoor activities.
•Karlstad (100 km): Swedish city with almost 100,000 inhabitants that offers a wide range of attractions, university, swimming pools, shopping, culture and entertainment.
•Glaskogen Nature Reserve (25 km): Värmland's largest nature reserve with hiking trails, canoe trails, fishing, moose safaris etc.
•Dalsland Canal: One of Europe's most beautiful waterways. Offers boat trips with lock through aqueduct
Norway
•Fredrikstad – Gamlebyen – Hvaler (95 km): Visit one of Norway's most popular attractions, Northern Europe's best-preserved fortress founded in 1567. From Gamlebyen to one of Norway's coastal gems, Hvaler/Skjærhallen, it is approx. 20 km and most of the journey takes place in the archipelago with sea on both sides of the road. •Halden – Fredriksten Fortress (75 km): Halden is the border town between Sweden and Norway. Large bridges (new and old) connect the two countries at the border. Halden Fortress is an old defensive building from the year 1660. The fortress was attacked a number of times but never taken.
•Oslo (110km): Norway's capital with a rich range of culture, entertainment and nature. There is something for everyone here all year round!
