Located at the top of a south-facing slope with a fantastic view, a forest just behind the house, a few minutes to a lake for swimming, and a short bike ride to the sea. The house is built using both old and new materials, including antique windows and doors from the early 1900s. The upper floor (entrance level) has an open ceiling and high roof. The open floor plan connects the living room and kitchen, which overlooks Grindsbysjön. Here, you will also find a sofa and armchair for cozy moments by the fireplace on rainy days. The upper floor also has two bedrooms—one with a 180 cm double bed and the other with a 160 cm sofa bed. A bathroom with a toilet, bathtub, and shower is located close to the bedrooms.
On the lower floor, there is a larger family room of 15 m² with a 160 cm double bed, a single bed, and space for an extra bed if needed. The room also has a small sofa and a TV. There is also a smaller TV room with two armchairs, as well as a simple bathroom/laundry room with a toilet, sink, washing machine, and dryer.
This is a bohemian house with some imperfections here and there. Plenty of green plants.
Large Balcony & Garden
The property is on sloped terrain with vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and many flowers. The best place to read, sunbathe, grill, and enjoy dinner is on the spacious balcony, which wraps around most of one long side of the house (morning sun) and the entire front (afternoon and evening sun). There is a large charcoal grill, outdoor furniture, and beautiful flowers.
Surroundings
The house is located at the highest point in Orust’s only eco-village, an area with around 15 unique houses, each with its own style. Behind the house, there is a lovely mushroom forest and scenic rocky terrain with twisted pines. Just a few minutes’ walk downhill, there is a great swimming spot with cliffs. There is also a pier for swimming. A sauna by the lake is available for rent. The lake is great for fishing, and canoes and kayaks can be rented through the outdoor association. A path behind the house and a gravel road provide a shortcut to the sea.
Three kilometers away (by foot through the forest or five km by road for cycling or driving), there is a beautiful seaside swimming area, a cozy summer café, and Slussens Pensionat, where you can enjoy great food and live music. A day trip to the car-free islands of Gullholmen or Käringön is highly recommended—ferries depart from Tuvesvik on western Orust.
