2 cosy seaside cottages + boat on Orust island

Book a wonderful holiday with family, relatives or friends in a peaceful rural setting
by the sea and near to lovely forests for walking or mushroom picking.

This accommodation is perfect for larger families or groups who want to holiday
together. With two fully equipped houses 15 metres apart, and a furnished
guest house, there is plenty of room for guests to be near each other and yet have
their own separate space. Altogether the cottages sleep 10 people comfortably.
There is a wood burning stove in the red house to warm chilly evenings and a fire pit in the garden for cosy outdoor gatherings.

The houses are situated 600 m from the sea on the east coast of the beautiful
island of Orust in the heart of Bohuslän. They are surrounded by extensive grounds
for games or recreation, by a quiet little side road. The nearest beach is at easy
walking distance, less than 10 min away, and is in a secluded spot. There is a jetty
to jump off and a beach to paddle in or fish for crabs. The rent includes use of a
small easy to use motor boat with a newer 15 HP outboard motor, perfect for expeditions
to the many nearby small uninhabited islands, and fishing. Mackerel can even be caught from the jetty. On light summer
evenings you can take the boat over the fjord to Ljungskile and visit the Mussel Bar or
Lyckorna Brygga or to Slussens Pensionat just north of the houses on
Orust. The houses are also perfectly placed for trips to many of Bohusläns
tourist attractions. The city of Gothenburg is just over an hour away, with
shops, museums, art galleries and Swedens largest amusement park, Liseberg, in the city
centre. A little nearer you can visit Nordens Ark Zoo, The Sealife
Centre in Lysekil and the Watercolour Art Gallery in Skärhamn on the neighbouring island of
Tjörn. One of our neighbours offers pony riding. We do recommend visitors to have a car and can help organise car hire including collection from the airport for around £200 pw with 700km
included.

The ground floor of the red house, which is a charming traditional cottage with low ceilings, consists of a shower room and toilet, a fully
equipped kitchen with washing machine, living room with TV, DVD, stereo and cosy
wood burning stove and a double bedroom leading to an outside decked area with
table and chairs, which is also reached from the front door. Upstairs there is a
bedroom with a twin bed and a small single bed.
New for 2021 is a dishwasher in the kitchen of the red house.

The ground floor of the grey
house has a large combined sitting room with TV/fully equipped kitchen, which
leads onto a spacious deck sweeping round the outside of the house, with a lounge set and a large extending table seating up to 12.
There is also a shower room/toilet, with washing machine, on the ground floor.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a large room with twin beds and a single
bed. In the insulated summerhouse in the garden there is a 120cm bed.
New for 2021 is an outdoor kitchen on the deck of the grey house.

There is a herb bed, and blackcurrant & blackberry bushes in the garden for guests
to use.

Final cleaning of the house on departure is the guests responsibility, or that service
can also be paid for.

We will give preference to bookings from larger parties wishing to hire both houses
at the same time but please contact us to check availability if you require just one
house.
