Arholma is a genuine island in the archipelago of Stockholm in the Baltic Sea with varied scenery, both agricultural land, forests and rugged cliffs out to the open sea. The island is car-free and many fine walking and cycling routes are available.
The cottage is located on a large, child-friendly lakeside on the southern part of the island. There is a private jetty and swimming opportunity in the yard. Canoe and two bicycles included.
The house has a kitchen, a veranda with a dining area, a living room with fireplace and two bedrooms with five beds. There are another two simple bedrooms with fore beds in a separate house. The kitchen has hot and cold running water, refrigerator, freezer, stove, microwave and kettle. Wifi and phone included, indoor lavatory, shower and sauna in a separate house. Seating and BBQ are available outdoors.
On the island there is a store with post office, pharmacy, beverage deliveries and bike rental. The beautifully situated dance floor has a restaurant and various theme nights are arranged during the summer including dance, crafts and literature evenings. An art gallery in the old beacon on the top of the island gives you a taste of culture. On the northern side of the island the Arholma Battery Museum shows you earlier top secret installations of coastal artillery defending the sea lanes to Stockholm in the days of the cold war. There are also kayak rentals.
To get here you can go by bus or by boat from Stockholm. Bus travelers and visitors coming by car will find boats leaving for Arholma from Simpnäs.
Welcome!
