THE SURROUNDINGS
The cottage is only 20 meters from the sea, with lovely views of the bay and lovely “own” beach edge.

Here those who want a quiet and peaceful summer week thrive. Sit on the shore and watch boats pas by, go down to the pier and take a dip in the sea. Pick shells, rocks and simply live a simple life.

If you get tired of the tranquility, you can walk in just 8 minutes to the nice old seaside resort of Nösund.
Here is Nösund’s sea bath, with restaurant or do you want to swim at more organized bathing places, then there are two nice bathing places in Nösund. Here is also Nösunds gården, which has a lovely garden to sit in and eat / or drink something good.

THE COTTAGE
The cottage is old and built in 1910.
Charming kitchen and nice living room with TV
Upstairs there is a bedroom and a sleeping alcove (curtain in between).

If you want to sleep on the sofa in the living room, it is comfortable to sleep in.
There is hot water here
In the garden there is an outdoor toilet and an outdoor shower.

Simon and the oaks
Have you seen the film “Simon and the oaks”, then you have seen many film clips made at the cottage’s garden, beach and piers.

THE SURROUNDINGS
Simon’s cottage is located as a detached house by an boat construction house. Here you have the garden all to yourself, you also have the beach to yourself as usual.
Sometimes some neighbors come out with their boat or the owner who needs something in one of the outbuildings.

SUNBATHING ON THE BEACH
Bring the sun loungers down to the beach and sit all day and enjoy the view with boats bouncing past.
Here it is possible to take a dip from the bathing steps on the pier.
It is also possible to swim at the beach but it is shallow, not so good bottom and some seagrass.

NOTE, NOTE, NOTE
There has been a boating business for over 100 years along the entire shoreline so for your safety bring your bathing shoes.

More to do on Orust & Tjörn

Pilgrimsleden on Orust is eight mil long and connects eight churches. It runs in a loop and forms an eight. see link for Fun on the island. Göksäter where you find lots of cheap and “good to have things”. Töllås sheep farm has a wonderful cafe, where also you can buy vegetables from the garden plot. Tavlebods honey farm, shows in a very educational way how bees live and make honey. There is also a café with good coffee and honey candies to buy. A day trip to Gullholmen or Kärringön is a must, the ferries go from Tuvesvik.

The traditional Sundsby Säteri on the island of Tjörn is not only about history, its kitchen garden and footpaths through stunning scenery. There is also a restaurant here with very good meals and home-baked cakes in the courtyard café. In the summer you can buy freshly baked bread in the farm shop. They serve excellent “fika” (Swedish for coffee and pastry, coffee can be substituted with other beverages) and different honey products are for sale.
