The House in the Sun and Breeze

Welcome to the "House in the Sun and Breeze" (Solens och Vindarnas hus) in Stockevik, Skaftö, 9 beds.
Our beautiful house is erected on a hill in the middle of Stockevik village, offering a view of the sea and the archipelago featuring Gåsö. The timber house was originally built in 1918 but is recently upgraded and renovated to modern standards, respecting the original flavor of a fisherman's home. The house has a new grand master bedroom adjacent to a fully tiled bathroom with shower and underfloor heating. The two floor original building holds another three bedrooms, living room, dining room and a kitchen. The kitchen comes with electric oven, microwave, and all relevant cookware, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and kettle. In the basement there is another toilet and shower equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. The large plot has plenty of space for ball games and a terrace for socializing.
As the house is situated on a high, there are stairs outdoors and a steep staircase indoors with a protective baby gate upstairs. Two rooms with double bed on the ground floor (which has extra ceiling height) and one room with double bed and one with 3 single beds upstairs. Extra junior bed and cot are also available, as well as highchairs for both the smallest and the slightly older child. We have often been three couples with three children here. For watching TV, use the Wi-Fi and your own computer or iPad. Two air source heat pumps offer heating or cooling depending on the outdoor climate.
Skaftö is an island with bridge to the mainland. Car parking is available on site. The plot is terraced and the house is not recommended for people with severe mobility impairments.
We have 2 adult bikes with one safe child saddle on the back. It is easy to rent more bikes on the island. In the basement there are life jackets in all sizes from baby to adult as well as play equipment for crab fishing and some sandbox toys and games. A coal-fired barbecue is also available.
The pier, harbour and swimming place are 350 meters away and offers swimming and crab fishing. Public playground with equipment and boules court lies at the heart of the harbour. Hiking and cycling trails go directly outside the plot with about 3 km to Fiskebäckskil and Grundsund respectively. A large number of exciting rough walking trails can be found on the island, with great views of the archipelago. The golf course is 1.5 km away.
For the children there is a swimming school in Fiskebäckskil and a sailing school in Grundsund. Kayaking is also offered there. There are two grocery stores on the island, one in Grundsund (ICA) and one in Fiskebäckskil (Tempo), fish mongers and several restaurants.
