Large and Comfortable Lakefront House with Private

Are you looking for a summer retreat with lakefront access, your own beach, and a large, beautiful house? A place to relax and enjoy the Swedish summer, pick blueberries and chanterelles in the nearby woods, and take refreshing swims in Lake Sommen. Or perhaps use it as a base for exciting day trips to places like Astrid Lindgren’s World, Gränna and Visingsö, High Chaparral, and Kolmården Wildlife Park. If so, our lovely newly built villa might be just what you’re looking for!

The house, built in New England style, was completed in 2022. It features four bedrooms with a total of 7 beds and space for 1–2 extra beds. A crib and highchairs are also available. There are two bathrooms with toilets and showers, one of which includes a bathtub. A large, charming veranda overlooks the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A washing machine and dryer are available, and broadband is included.

Bedroom 1: Double bed (180 cm).
Bedroom 2: Double bed (160 cm).
Bedroom 3: Single bed (120 cm).
Bedroom 4: Convertible double bed (180 cm) or single bed (90 cm).

Bed linens and towels are included. A grill is available on the veranda. You are welcome to use the pedal boat on the lake. Upon request, bicycles, life jackets, water toys, and fishing gear may also be borrowed. Playgrounds are within a short walking distance.

The house is located in the village of Sommen, just outside Tranås in northern Småland. It offers a rural feel without being isolated, with neighbors nearby (see pictures—our house is the white one). Nature and forests are close at hand. The village has a pizzeria, ice cream stand, and a campground with a kiosk. The nearest grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacy, liquor store, clothing shops, and more can be found in Tranås (12 km) or Boxholm (10 km).

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed due to allergies.

Smoking indoors is, of course, strictly prohibited.
