In a unique cultural landscape on the island´s southern tip with the medieval church in the eye, this cultural treasure is located. This fantastically beautiful limestone house from the middle of the 19th century, was the parish school up until the 1950:s. It is surrounded by a large old garden with views over the sea. A real idyll in a secluded and quiet cultural environment in a unique and open landscape. The location is culturally and historically exciting, next to the church from the 13th century is a defense tower from the 12th century, Gotland´s best-preserved tower. On the slope below the church is the "poorhouse", where the area of use rather became the parish hut/municipal hall, post office and school crafts, activities that were moved to the town Burgsvik when Hoburg municipality was established in 1952.
This is a simple dwelling with six berths in two levels, one double bed and two junior beds and an alcove with a single bed on the upper level, an additional private alcove on the bottom level in the schoolroom. On the ground level there is also a well-equipped kitchen and dining room. Another half stair down is a shower cabin and a wash basin, but no WC. There is a charming outhouse in the storage building, also this one was built during the middle of the19th century.
In the surroundings there is access to restaurants such as Majstre by Hoburgen, distance about 4km,
Körsbärsgården with an art gallery and café, circa 1km away. Both are located south from the old school.
Swimming spots such as Flisarviken, south towards Hoburgen about 2km. Along the Sudret coast line are many spots for a dipp.
Miles long sandy beaches at Holmhällar, distance about 3km on a bicycle, 6km by car. Burgsvik marina is especially appreciated by children, as they have a slide into the water.
In the nearest community Burgsvik, distance 15km, is a supermarket ICA Hoburgshallen, Bertil Norrby Järnaffär (hardware store who rents bicycles) and three restaurants, BK (Burgsviks Krog), Grå Gåsen and Guldkaggen. Otherwise, Sudret is dense with eateries. Vamlingbo prästgård, Hamra Krog and a new restaurant, Sibbjäns mat & logi is planning to open during summer 2025.
