As one of only three houses on Hissö island, this well-equipped cottage is located on the shore of a large, scenic plot, with a view of Kronoberg's castle ruins and the sunset over Lake Helgasjön. The location is private with meadows, broadleaf forest and impressive old pines. Whether you are on holiday or working or a student, you will find peace here and recharge your body and soul so that you have more energy for everyday tasks.

The cottage has an open floor plan and cozy interior design. The bedroom has two good box spring beds and TV with the six free channels. The kitchen with dining area has a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee maker and kettle and all the kitchen equipment you will need. Living room with sofa bed. An extra bed can be arranged. The the wood stove may only be fired by long-term guests. The bathroom has a WC, shower and underfloor heating. A hall with washing machine, tumble dryer, drying rack. Internet via mobile broadband with 4G Wi-Fi.

Check-in at 3 p.m., departure at 10 a.m. No smoking indoors. If you do not want to clean yourself, you pay SEK 1,200 upon arrival. Bed linen and towels cost SEK 200 per person.

During the summer months, you can fish with the rowing boat. Växjö has very beautiful cycle paths, so feel free to use the two bikes that are included. Or swim and hike on the island or to Evedal's bathing area and campsite nearby. In winter, you can go ice skating on the lake or cross-country skiing and downhill skiing nearby if there is snow.

Växjö is 15 minutes away by car. There is a bus stop 300 m from the cottage. Växjö is a fairly large city with a lot of culture such as concerts, museums, festivals. There are good restaurants and cafes, shops in the city and at Grand Samarkand. Växjö is a university city and a famous sports city with many sports facilities that you can use. The children have several fun playgrounds and activity facilities. Växjö is surrounded by a pleasant, small-scale cultural landscape in beautiful nature, so there are very good opportunities for outdoor life.

Växjö is centrally located in Småland and is suitable as a starting point for day trips to the Kingdom of Glass, several moose safari parks, national parks and nature reserves, Kalmar and also Öland, which, however, is best in summer. In summer, Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby is the obvious destination for families with children. I recommend a visit to some glassworks in the Glasriket all year round. Småland is world famous for its art glass and you can watch the craftsmen blow glass or try it yourself. The glassworks sell premium or second grade glassware cheaper than you can buy at home.

Jacht – No, not here. You can find out for yourself where and if you can hunt as a tourist in Småland. But Småland has eight moose parks😄. Moose safaris are popular. Birdwatchers have a low season during the winter, but in Lake Åsnen and its surroundings there is perhaps something to see. During the summer months, there are several good birding sites in the vicinity of Växjö.
Kanoverhuur – During the season, you can rent a canoe or kayak at three places in Helgasjön. There is a canoe trail through Lake Helgasjön.
Langlaufen – Prepared ski tracks at Araby Golf Course and at Hanaslöv
Midgetgolf – Mini golf course and adventure golf course in Evedal.
Natuurbad – You can swim from the cabin. (Winter bathers have lived here). On Hissö there is a small, little-known bathing spot that combines a shallow sandy beach with rock outcrops. Evedal's bathing area, 2 km away, is the most popular among Växjö residents.
Overdekt zwembad – Växjö swimming hall with 25 m pool, adventure pool, children's pool and gym.
Slalom/Snowboard – On Hanaslövbacken 20 km away at Alvesta
Speelplaats – Växjö has several nice playgrounds, for example three great fun ones by Lake Växjö. Then there is a skateboard park and the indoor facilities Leo's Lekland and Hop N Pop trampoline park. And of course Växjö Swimming Hall with adventure pool.
Tennis – Växjö Tennis Society. If it's fully booked, there are at least four padel halls...
Vissen – Good fishing in Helgasjön and several nearby lakes. Fishing licenses are bought online. Fishing equipment may not be stored in the house. There is a bike storage room for that.
Voetbalveld – Several are in Växjö. Växjö is a famous sports town. You can skate outside the cabin or in the ice rink in Växjö. There are sports facilities for many sports.
Wandelmogelijkheden – Exciting trail around Hissö, which is a nature reserve. Hiking trail on Evedalsåsen to Evedal's swimming area and campsite, take the pleasant Evedalsvägen back home. Several hiking trails in the area, including the Sigfridsleden.
