Cottage at lake/river with perfect canoing/fishing

This typical swedish timber house Västra Vintersjön is beautifully placed on a large lakeside property with great scenic views of lake Vintersjön and the Svartälven river. The waterline is only 20 meters away from the house.

Timber house: Built around 1890, area 50 m2: hallway, large kitchen / dining room, bathroom with shower and WC, a large bedroom with double bed (160 cm) and smaller bedroom with bunk bed. The cabin has electric heating and complete equipment for cooking your meals: Electric stove and oven, fridge/freezer, coffee machine.

Just outside the house you can pick raspberries for your pancakes. Garden furniture and a grill come with the house as well as a canoe. On the large property you find a great outdoor fireplace down by the lake. A sunny area for swimming and slipping the canoe into the water and the sauna house is placed 150 m away, beyond the neighbour house. The sauna and the lake access for swimming is occasionally being shared with guests from the neighbor house Östra Vintersjön. This sharing has worked fine for many years.

The surroundings: Västra Vintersjön is undisturbed placed in the wilderness of Värmland 30 km northeast of Filipstad (30 min). The only other house by the lake is Östra Vintersjön ,150 m distance (that house is also for rent). Excellent opportunities for swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking etc. Lots of Blueberries, lingonberries mushrooms can be found just around the corner in the surrounding woods. Sitting by the campfire you can listen to the sound of the loon echoing beautiful across the lake. With a little luck a moose - king of the woods himself - can be seen nearby.

Svartälven is a paradise for canoeing! The Svartälven river offers exciting tours in both directions. Search for ”svartälven northern part” to see a detailed map. You can take a short canoe trip into the sunset or go on a longer expedition following the canoe trail.
